Julia has been an experienced and well respected tutor of botanical art for some twenty years.

She teaches two regular weekly classes on the outskirts of the beautiful historic city of Bath, has run courses for the City of Bath College and the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol and was a visiting tutor for the Chelsea School of Botanical Art.

As well as teaching workshops for groups around the UK, she has taught as far afield as Moscow, New York and Transylvania. Since the start of 2020, she has also taught online via Zoom, and produced pre-recorded tutorials.

Over the past year or so, Julia has also been invited to deliver a number of Zoom workshops and courses for various botanical art groups worldwide. The subjects covered include: 'Outside the Box', 'Autumnal Leaves', Wet-In-Wet for Botanical Art' and 'Celebrating Imperfection'. EMAIL Julia if you would like her to run a workshop for your group.

At the start of 2022 Julia worked with online course provider DOMESTIKA to produce a course focusing on painting a botanical portrait of fruit. See the introductory video here or on the Domestika site.

During the Pandemic, Julia devised some pre-recorded online courses - 'Botanical Colour' and 'Texture and Detail'. These courses were six sessions, delivered over twelve weeks with the options for peer-to-peer support and tutor feedback. There were also shorter Spring Flowers and Festive Foliage courses. Whilst very popular, Julia is taking a break from repeating these courses for now, though is still possible to view a few short videos on YouTube.

In September 2023 Julia will be returning to Copsa Mare, Transylvania to lead an exclusive class depicting the wildflowers found on the unspoilt meadows there. These are opportunities not to be missed!

It is hoped that other face-to-face workshops, cancelled over the last two years will be rescheduled. Watch this space for updates or SUBSCRIBE to be kept in touch about new courses, talks, online tutorials or other botanical art resources.
